Lilly Pulitzer Blythe Dress and Monogrammed Straw Clutch

What’s more perfect than a Lilly Pulitzer Blythe Dress and Monogrammed Straw Clutch for a bright, colorful look at the beach? Not much in my opinion!

I’ve always been a fan of the bold prints from Lilly, but never owned one of her iconic dresses. So after a rain-soaked afternoon hiding indoors, I purchased my first Lilly dress at Barefoot Princess in WaterColor in a fun, fresh ‘light as a feather’ pattern.

The swing shape of the cotton v-neck dress provides a loose, laid back look perfect for an evening at the WaterColor wine bar with my mom and Michael. And this dress is more affordable than most Lilly dresses – at only $98, you can have the “Lilly look for less”!

Sizing tip: order down a size or two. For reference, I am wearing an XXS and am 5’1″. I normally wear an XS or S in dresses.

Besides my luggage, I only packed two bags with me for vacation – my beach bag and my brand new Monogrammed Straw Clutch from Lindroth Design. To say I am obsessed with this clutch is an understatement.

Painted with bright pink and white stripes and featuring my monogram ‘CCM’, I have carried this bag with me everywhere. It is large enough to hold all of my essentials – my iPhone, small wallet, sunglasses and case, lipstick and lipliner – and looks cute during the day or night.

You can choose from 21 different colors for the stripes and monogram hand-painted on the bag and they only take about 3-5 business days to create. Lindroth Design also offers beach bags and small straw handle bags with the same iconic stripes and monograms. I’ll be adding the Lyford Bag to my wish list!

Make sure to follow me on Instagram to see more of my vacation fun! It’s been raining non-stop but we’re making the most of it!

Vibrant Bib Necklace

Statement necklaces are totally my thing. Even the most basic outfit can be transformed with a bold and bright bauble. My rule of thumb: the more colorful the better. So I was THRILLED when the ladies from The Shopping Bag asked me to style a look featuring this Polina Vibrant Bib Necklace.

Our recent trip to Mexico provided the perfect backdrop for this stunner! I chose a simple dress in my favorite shade of green to complement the palette, but let’s be honest: the necklace is the star. I love the mixture of emerald, turquoise and gold and the layers and layers of beads and baubles.

At only $24, it is an absolute steal. To sweeten the pot, The Shopping Bag is giving my readers 25% off EVERYTHING  on the site with promo code “EVERYDAYCUVEE” (valid through July 11).

New to The Shopping Bag? This super cute online boutique offers a unique selection of clothing, accessories, home décor, beauty products and much more. Here are my absolute favorites:

  • Clothing: Boho Tassel Halter Dress or Ikat Print Two Piece Set
  • Accessories: Fringe Backpack Purse, Lemon Slice Clutch or Watermelon Slice Clutch
  • Shoes: Lacy-like Behavior Perforated Sandal
  • Home: Pineapple Hospitality Jars

Embroidered Maxi Dress

In a dream world, I would love to live in Hawaii (although I have never been) and surf all day – think Kate Bosworth in Blue Crush.

But since that hasn’t happened yet, I’ll settle for wearing surfer-chic brands from Swell. In addition to swimsuits and rash guards they have so many cute, laid-back clothing options.

This Embroidered Maxi Dress immediately caught my eye because of the colorful bib detail but the lightweight fabric and fun details – I’m obsessed with the back – made this the perfect dress to go from beach to food trucks in Seaside, Florida.

Cabana Life SPF Coverup Dress

I am spending the week in WaterColor, Florida, for a beach vacation with my entire family and this Cabana Life SPF Coverup Dress has been a lifesaver since temperatures have been in the high 90’s.

It not only has 50+ UV protection; it is lightweight, breathable and looks super cute for riding to the beach and around the pool on 30A.

Although, I am admittedly a sun-worshipper, I have learned how important it is to protect myself from the rays – especially in sun-drenched places like the Gulf Coast. So, I am totally a fan of SPF clothing when on vacation and will be packing some for my upcoming trip where I will be traveling to mostly warm climates.

Enter Cabana Life – THE leader in sun-protective beach clothing with 50+ UV protection in each piece. The brand offers everything from swimsuits to coverups to clothing – for women, men and kids. All in cute patterns and styles to keep you and your entire family protected from the sun and stylish at the same time.

One of my favorite pieces from the recent collection is this Cabana Life SPF Coverup Dress. It didn’t wrinkle in my suitcase at all because of the fast-drying, swimsuit material and fits perfectly (form-fitted but not too tight). There are even two pockets in the front of the dress to stash your keys or cell phone while cruising around town.

Do you know what the best part is?! Cabana Life is offering all readers of Everyday Cuvée 30% OFF everything on the site! Simply enter code COURTNEY16 at checkout and let me know what pieces you find!

Long Plaid Cardigan

Michael and I are hitting the road and heading to Ohio to celebrate his grandmother’s 90th birthday over the weekend. We always have a jammed-packed schedule when visiting family and it usually starts the moment we get in town.

Therefore it’s important for me to travel in something that is comfortable but also looks polished enough to head out to dinner when we get there like this long plaid cardigan that I found for only $30 (the plaid obsession continues!)

This open-front green sweater will keep me warm and cozy in the car but looks polished when paired with black pants, a gingham shirt and a sparkly statement necklace for nighttime.

I’m planning on trading out my Frye boots for my booties which are tucked away in my weekender bag (which I may or may not have given as a gift to Michael at one point) and doing my hair in this “5-minute updo” with a reversible gold and black headband.

All in all, this is an easy day-to-night look!

Speaking of looks…make sure to come back next week to see what to wear to a black tie, black tie optional or cocktail wedding with Rent the Runway shot by Jennifer Kathryn Photography. It was and I can’t wait to share it with you!

Round Pond Estate Winery

Friends often ask me for recommendations for Wine Country. While I am more than happy to share (Michael’s interactive Google map is a sight to behold) there really is no wrong way to ‘do’ Wine Country.

Everyday Cuvée visits Round Pond Winery

For many, taking a drive up Highway 29 through Napa is all they will ever need. Big name wineries abound in this gorgeous stretch from Napa into St. Helena (think Robert Mondavi, Beringer, Beaulieu Vineyards) sometimes referred to as adult Disneyland. Seeing the beautiful estates from your favorite wine label transform from illustrations in your grocery store aisle to sprawling chateaux in person never gets old.

For others, it is all about finding that next cult wine or limited production site where you might meet the winemaker in person. Walking through the vines with the person who transforms that fruit into the wine you’re saving for a special occasion is not to be missed.

I think there is a place for both options, but if you are looking for the perfect combination between the two the answer is Round Pond Estate Winery. Situated in the Rutherford region of Napa Valley, this family-owned winery is known for its rich, expressive wines (especially Cabernet), olive oil and farm-to-table philosophy.

Having visited the winery once before on our engagement trip, Michael and I anxiously awaited our return visit. We love all of their wines. Their rosé of Nebbiolo and estate Sauvignon Blanc are summer staples and the transition to fall and now winter means we can open some of their reds–the Proprietary Blend and both of their Cabernets are just about perfect.

A short drive off of Highway 29, Round Pond greets guests with a long palm-tree lined entrance that frames the estate in front of you. Upon arrival, we were escorted to the spacious outdoor terrace and seated at a small table near the expansive fireplace. After being greeted by our lovely host, Jeanie, we were treated to their Estate Tasting.

The family believes that the right food pairing helps bring out the full flavors in wine and they put that philosophy on full display for us. We tasted through four of the vineyard’s wines paired with their own garden-inspired appetizers all while enjoying the stunning views of the property.

The Estate Tasting Wine Pairings:

  • 2014 Reserve Sauvignon Blanc served with Housemade Chips with Onion Dip, Salmon Caviar featuring Round Pond Estate Meyer Lemon Olive Oil and Chives from the garden
  • 2013 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon served with Olive Arrancini with Fried Olive Risotto and Roasted Garlic Aioli featuring Round Pond Estate Italian Varietal EVOO and Infused Garlic Oil and Yellow Onion, Egg and Garlic from the garden
  • 2012 and 2013 Proprietary Red Wine – Chili Braised Short Rib Sope with Dora’s Tomato Salsa, Radish, Micro Cilantro, Laura Chenel Goat Cheese and Infused Olive Oil featuring Round Pond infused Chili Olive Oil and Cabernet-Merlot Red Wine Vinegar & Radish and Cilantro from the garden

My favorite? They were all wonderful, but the definite highlight of the day was tasting the inaugural release of their Cabernet-based ‘The Vow’ which is one of their exclusive Gravel Series wines and a special addition to our tasting.

The Gravel Series represents the very best fruit from three iconic vineyard sites and came together to honor their mother, father, and their “vow” to always keep the winery in the family. We picked up a bottle to celebrate our vow to each other and are planning on opening it for a future anniversary.

In addition to the Estate Tasting, the winery offers olive oil tastings, a Garden-to-Table brunch on Sundays, tours of the property and “A Day in the Life of Round Pond” experience during harvest. This “live like a local” experience definitely tops my list for a future date!

Thank you to Round Pond for the complimentary estate tasting. Although the tasting was free, the opinions in this article are my own and Round Pond has been one my favorites even before I started my blog!

Fluffy Bag Charms

The Karl bag charm graced the runways of the Fendi Spring 2015 show, then the handbags of all of fashion’s elite and now there are variations of the fluffy bag charms available at all price points!

If you are feeling playful, clip this adorable owl to your handbag or keep it simple and sophisticated with a pop of fluffy color. Either way, make sure to add one to you bag this season for a new twist on your everyday accessory!

Geometric Separates

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July holiday! Michael and I took a road trip up north to Madison, Wisconsin, and had a relaxing weekend stay at The Graduate Madison. It was the perfect getaway from Chicago with a ton of great restaurants and activities.

The city is oriented around the Capitol Building with its stately grounds and stone stairs for days – the perfect backdrop for this geometric shirt and skirt combo that I just had to have. Not only is the duo cute together, but each piece looks great alone.

I have already worn the top with jeans and black pants for two different nights out. The top is so, so flattering – fitted and cut in at the top to accentuate the shoulders and boxy at the bottom with a back pleat to flatter the waistline.

Cobalt {Color Crush}

You know what they say in fashion: everything old is new again! Cobalt blue is by no means a new color. Did you know that after it was discovered as a pigment in 1802, Impressionist painters Renoir and Monet and Post-Impressionists like Van Gogh used it to create the intense skyscapes like you see in Starry Night?

This bold hue can look great as the main attraction of your ensemble or as an eye-catching accent accessory. It is already showing up on store shelves but it is definitely one you will be seeing everywhere this fall.

Cobalt looks best paired with metallics, yellow, camel, leopard, white and even black which provides a great contrast.

I think this off-the-shoulder dress is super-chic and these pants are work-appropriate and stylish.  If you are not quite ready to commit to cobalt as the main attraction then consider adding it as a pop of color in your handbag or shoes.

Which cobalt items do you love?

Cobalt Bucket Bag, Stud Earrings ($8.00!), Pants (under $100), Off-the-Shoulder Dress, Cobalt Sandals (under $60), Bib Necklace ($18.00!), Watch, Earrings, Midi Dress, Shift Dress (under $100)
