Baby Blues

Over the weekend, I visited St. Louis to celebrate our Martha Stewart Weddings magazine feature, meet my newest niece and spend time with my family. It was a perfectly relaxing weekend with the exception of my 10-mile training run which didn’t feel too great.

By the time Sunday rolled around, the sun had driedup all of the puddles and I felt confident enough to wear my new suede heels which I had been saving for spring weather. I paired them with my trusty trench, white pants and this new baby blue sweater that I found for under $20!

Lilly Pulitzer Blythe Dress and Monogrammed Straw Clutch

What’s more perfect than a Lilly Pulitzer Blythe Dress and Monogrammed Straw Clutch for a bright, colorful look at the beach? Not much in my opinion!

I’ve always been a fan of the bold prints from Lilly, but never owned one of her iconic dresses. So after a rain-soaked afternoon hiding indoors, I purchased my first Lilly dress at Barefoot Princess in WaterColor in a fun, fresh ‘light as a feather’ pattern.

The swing shape of the cotton v-neck dress provides a loose, laid back look perfect for an evening at the WaterColor wine bar with my mom and Michael. And this dress is more affordable than most Lilly dresses – at only $98, you can have the “Lilly look for less”!

Sizing tip: order down a size or two. For reference, I am wearing an XXS and am 5’1″. I normally wear an XS or S in dresses.

Besides my luggage, I only packed two bags with me for vacation – my beach bag and my brand new Monogrammed Straw Clutch from Lindroth Design. To say I am obsessed with this clutch is an understatement.

Painted with bright pink and white stripes and featuring my monogram ‘CCM’, I have carried this bag with me everywhere. It is large enough to hold all of my essentials – my iPhone, small wallet, sunglasses and case, lipstick and lipliner – and looks cute during the day or night.

You can choose from 21 different colors for the stripes and monogram hand-painted on the bag and they only take about 3-5 business days to create. Lindroth Design also offers beach bags and small straw handle bags with the same iconic stripes and monograms. I’ll be adding the Lyford Bag to my wish list!

Make sure to follow me on Instagram to see more of my vacation fun! It’s been raining non-stop but we’re making the most of it!

Oversized Plaid Scarf

Over the weekend, I really wanted to add a little “fall” into my life and by “fall”, I mean plaid. I purchased these buffalo plaid coffee mugs, a cozy plaid blanket and this oversized plaid scarf. As I am sure it does to everyone else, this design just inspires me to embrace the season.

Thankfully I have a willing companion who will drive me an hour away to really embrace the true meaning of autumn – apple picking. I had a grandiose idea of a crisp morning among the apple trees pulling perfectly red apples and placing them into my coordinated basket all while wearing a cute outfit and plaid, of course.

I was dead wrong. After a long line of traffic, waiting in line for an extraordinary amount of time to buy an admission pass and then being handed a plastic bag to stow my goodies, things were not going as planned.

Nonetheless, we still rode the tractor out to the rows only to have our camera completely shut down. We took a few iPhone pics, purchased cider donuts and candy apples and sadly left the scene.

I was disheartened but my luck changed when we happened upon this rustic-looking bridge and our camera magically worked again. Cue cute fall outfit and this plaid scarf.

This scarf is only $33, cozy and so soft that I will be wearing it again and again this season…juuuusttt not back to the apple orchard.

Summer Whites at the Missouri Botanical Garden

Summer nights in summer whites at the Missouri Botanical Garden is the dreamiest way to spend an evening in my opinion. I may be a little biased considering we had our wedding reception at the Spink Pavilion in the garden, but I love visiting this floral oasis in St. Louis.

Summer Whites at the Missouri Botanical Garden

Sensational Summer Nights is a garden-style happy hour that takes place each Thursday from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 5 PM – 8 PM. The event features cocktails, live music, seasonal bites and nitrogen ice cream so you can sip and see the gardens in a relatively uncrowded way which is right up my alley. Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, free for kids and free for Garden Members.

With temps in the 90’s well into the evening, I chose an all-white outfit to stay cool and comfortable while strolling through the rose bushes. I paired my linen top which comes in four colors and is on-super sale with my distressed white jeans and gold birks.

For a pop of color, I wore my new leather tassel necklace in dusty blue from Wild Juniper. Also available in gold, pale pink, army green, coral and lavender – there is a shade for everyone and every occasion including a night in the garden.

Sensational Summer Nights run through Labor Day so you still have two more weeks to attend the event. I highly recommend it for a date night or girls night out!

Embroidered Top and White Ripped Jeans

In a few weeks, we’re having a family picture taken at the beach and this embroidered top and white ripped jeans are in the running for our pastel-themed shoot.

Each year, we’ve attempted to capture the little ones in our family (eight kids ages six and under) in a picture-perfect moment where everyone is laughing and smiling but it has never worked.

This year we are leaving it up to a professional which I couldn’t be happier about because Michael and I are usually the ones behind the camera on those ill-fated attempts.

We are gifting my mom with the shoot as a thank you for our yearly trip to WaterColor so we let her dictate the color scheme of the photo – light blue, khaki, white, light pink and peach.  The pastel hues will be perfect for photos by the beach at sunset.

This embroidered top is only $34.99 and is available in all sizes. The white embroidered detail is so delicate and looks way more expensive than the cost of the shirt and the tassels…they are my favorite detail!

It is a touch see-through when the light hits it right so you could wear a camisole underneath for modesty.

I paired the lightweight, summery blouse with my white ripped jeans and tassel earrings (seen here and here) and can’t wait to re-wear this casual outfit in a couple weeks on 30A.

Don’t forget to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – prices go up August 8th! There are still so many amazing deals available so happy shopping!

Patterned Jumpsuit

Over the weekend, we packed up the car and headed to Libertyville – an adorable suburb of Chicago and home to my friend Kate and her family. Even though it is only about 45 minutes away, traffic and busy schedules make it hard to get to so I was so excited to have two whole days to spend with our friends.

We had a BBQ, went to the Libertyville Days parade and then had all intentions of hitting up the carnival before the rain washed away our plans. However, that didn’t stop the gang from walking into town, having a wonderful dinner and tons of laughs.

Since the weather was supposed to be toasty and I may (or may not) have ridden a carnival ride, I picked up this lightweight printed jumpsuit. It was comfortable, cool and easy to get around which was a huge plus in my book for summer ensembles.

Cabana Life SPF Coverup Dress

I am spending the week in WaterColor, Florida, for a beach vacation with my entire family and this Cabana Life SPF Coverup Dress has been a lifesaver since temperatures have been in the high 90’s.

It not only has 50+ UV protection; it is lightweight, breathable and looks super cute for riding to the beach and around the pool on 30A.

Although, I am admittedly a sun-worshipper, I have learned how important it is to protect myself from the rays – especially in sun-drenched places like the Gulf Coast. So, I am totally a fan of SPF clothing when on vacation and will be packing some for my upcoming trip where I will be traveling to mostly warm climates.

Enter Cabana Life – THE leader in sun-protective beach clothing with 50+ UV protection in each piece. The brand offers everything from swimsuits to coverups to clothing – for women, men and kids. All in cute patterns and styles to keep you and your entire family protected from the sun and stylish at the same time.

One of my favorite pieces from the recent collection is this Cabana Life SPF Coverup Dress. It didn’t wrinkle in my suitcase at all because of the fast-drying, swimsuit material and fits perfectly (form-fitted but not too tight). There are even two pockets in the front of the dress to stash your keys or cell phone while cruising around town.

Do you know what the best part is?! Cabana Life is offering all readers of Everyday Cuvée 30% OFF everything on the site! Simply enter code COURTNEY16 at checkout and let me know what pieces you find!

Navy & White Stripe Sweater

I purchased this navy and white stripe sweater for a trip to Florida that sadly, I had to cancel. But warmer temperatures in Chicago (30 degrees instead of 3) this past weekend allowed me to wear it under a navy blazer to my nephew’s 2nd birthday party.

Along with the shape of the hem, the length is perfect to pair with skinny jeans or white pants. It is also super lightweight so I will be wearing it as a swimsuit coverup when I finally head to Florida in a month for a wedding!

Long Meadow RanchEveryday Cuvée

Michael and I are spending Thanksgiving in Wine Country and couldn’t be happier to be back in one of our favorite spots for the holiday.

Long Meadow Ranch | Everyday Cuvée Travels

Napa Valley holds a special place in our hearts as we visited the area on our engagement trip and stayed at Hotel Yountville. Not only do we love the wine that is unique to the region, we love the food.

Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch in St. Helena has been on our list of restaurants to dine at and it did not disappoint. We shared small plates as to try more dishes and loved the Cheddar Biscuits, Artichoke Heart, and Beet Salad.

After lunch we walked the surrounding grounds to restaurant which are beautiful and contain an outdoor café, farmer’s market, general store and even some lawn games. It’s worth sticking around for!
