Every year, Michael and I host a couple of our good friends for Oscar night. We provide the food and drinks while our guests are only required to bring their movie knowledge. After the ballots are complete, we settle in for an enjoyable evening to watch the winners unfold – onscreen and off.
Thankfully Michael is the head chef in our house, while I am in charge of the decor. I purchased the majority of my black and white party supplies at Target including the straws, napkins, plates and balloons (with a few gold vinyl stars I cut with my Silhouette Cameo). The coasters, champagne glasses, St. Germain, and Jack Rudy mixers were around the house – all of which I placed atop our bar cart.
As a bonus, I designed an Oscar ballot that you can use too! Just click here, download and print.
Scroll down to see what Michael’s making and how he paired each Best Picture Nominee with a speciality food or drink. He is so creative and witty when it comes to menu planning!!
And now for the best part…the food and drinks! I’ve included the recipes when necessary, just click on the name of the dish.
